European Championship – Day 5

It was a long day again out on the water, but this time in good breeze. The fleet completed three races in shifty 10-12 kts N wind. There were temporary lulls of 5-6 kts and fresh 15-16 kts periods as well. Racing was really tactical today, reading the shifts was key to earn low scores. The fleet was super tight with close battles all around the racecourse.

In the Boys’ fleet Ryan Yee Kang TEO (SIN) seems untouchable, he posted two bullets and a fourth (his worst so far) today. Tytus BUTOWSKI (POL) sailed two excellent races and jumped into second position, 7 points ahaead of Rok VERDERBER (SLO), who slipped back to third.

Unbelievably consistent Mara TURIN (SLO) remains on top among the Girls, while Eefje NISSEN (NED) climbed up to second overall with three podium finishes today. Aina COLOM (ESP) and Arianna PASSAMONTI (ITA) are on equal points on 3rd and 4th, but Lara POLJSAK is also in shooting distance for a podium finish. The local fans celebrated the first Hungarian race win performed by Csenge Veenstra in the girls fleet which made this beautiful day even brighter.

Tomorrow is the last day of racing, the first race is scheduled for 9 am.
